New Mills Wesleyanism S. Evans
Published in 1912 this little book tells the History, Traditions, Rise and Progress of Wesleyanism in New Mills Derbyshire. As the preface says " At the request of the Centenary Committee, this little book as been written with a view of rescuing from oblivion a great deal of information respecting New Wills Wesleyanism" As well as the text there are photographs of the main people concerned with the movement, the buildings used for the movement and copies of the original deeds. For those with non conformist ancestors there is also a list of the pew rentals and some of the many Memorial Inscriptions within the church yard. This is in no way a circuit history but a brief sojourn into the life and times of the Wesley followers within a small parish. It also tells of the persecution one or two of the members suffered in their pursuit to preach the "good word" Scanned and converted to PDF format this is a facsimile of the original.
